Looking for the perfect wedding venue in Vermont? As someone who has lived and grown up in Vermont AND as a wedding & elopement photographer, I can help give insights to just a few of my absolute favorite venues!
Selecting the perfect wedding venue in Vermont is a journey, with lots to think about and take into consideration. Firstly, consider the ambiance you envision: whether it’s a rustic barn tucked away in the Green Mountains, a historic estate with stunning gardens, or a picturesque lakeside setting, Vermont has a wide array of options to suit every couple’s taste.
Next, consider the size and layout of the venue to ensure it can accommodate your guest list comfortably and offers the amenities you and your partner have been dreaming of. Whether you envision an intimate gathering or a grand celebration, venues like The Woodstock Inn, The Lodge at Spruce Peak, Mountain Top Resort, or Sandiwood Farm offer versatile spaces to tailor to your needs.
Budget is another crucial factor. Vermont’s wedding venues vary in price, so it’s essential to have a clear understanding of your budget and what is included in the venue package. Some venues offer all-inclusive packages, while others allow for more customization, so be sure to inquire about pricing, deposits, and any additional fees.
Lastly, and most importantly, visit potential venues in person to get a feel for the space, meet with venue coordinators, and envision how your wedding day will unfold. Whether you’re drawn to the rustic charm of a barn wedding or the elegance of a historic estate, picking your wedding venue in Vermont is an exciting process that sets the stage for a truly unforgettable celebration amidst the state’s natural beauty and small town ambiance.
01. The Lodge at Spruce Peak
The Lodge at Spruce Peak is one of my favorite venues to shoot at, for obvious reasons. The location is stunning, the property is massive and can hold a large number of guests, the staff are all amazing and the food is unbeatable! If you are planning a larger wedding, definitely add Spruce Peak to your visit list, you truly can’t go wrong booking your wedding here.
02. Sandiwood Farm – Wolcott, VT
A small, laid back, Vermont farm with incredible views of Mt. Mansfield , lush green fields and stunning gardens surrounding the property. Sandiwood Farm is an absolute dream of a location for a wedding or elopement. It’s perfect for small or larger guest lists (up to 100) and the views are immaculate, any time of year. The owners are always close by and eager to help and accommodate guests and vendors in anyway they might need. If you are thinking of something a bit more intimate, laid back, but still beautiful, consider adding Sandiwood Farm to your list!
03. Mountain Top Inn – Chittenden, VT
A 4 season resort , surrounded by gorgeous mountain ranges and the stunning Chittenden Reservoir – Mountain Top Inn is a popular venue for anyone looking for the full Vermont wedding experience. The buildings are rustic and Vermont themed, the resort is like walking into a warm log cabin lit by a beautiful large fireplace. No matter what time of year you choose for your wedding, Mountain Top is a favorite for many good reasons!
These are just a few examples of some of the venues that Vermont has to offer – there’s hundreds more to choose from, but these are my top three that I’ve had the opportunity to shoot at!
The most important thing to think about is what you truly want in a venue – create a must-have list and go from there. Your venue is out there just waiting for you!
Best of luck 🙂
